The method of practical works in the teaching of informatics represents a modern approach to education in which students actively participate in the process of acquiring knowledge through independent solving of tasks, projects and practical examples. In this way, theoretical knowledge is connected with practice, and students develop not only IT, but also general competences: critical thinking, logical reasoning, problem solving and teamwork. This paper analyzes the application of the method of practical works in the teaching of informatics, its advantages, challenges and possible ways of improvement.
