Impact on African eggplant development according to supply of nitrogen and potassium supply

The objective was to evaluate the development of African eggplant (Solanum aethiopicum gr. Gilo) as a function of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) supply in plants grown in pots. Five N doses (12, 24, 48, 96, and 196 kg ha-1) were tested, combined in a factorial design with five K doses (8, 16, 32, 64, and 128 kg ha-1). Plant height (PH), root dry weight (RDW), average stem diameter (ASD), and shoot dry weight (SWW) were evaluated. There was a significant effect between the isolated N doses and the variables PH and RDW. Increasing the N dose from 12 to 196 kg ha-1 influenced the increase in PH from 43.3 cm to 105.5 cm, respectively. Increasing the N dose from 12 to 196 kg ha-1 influenced the increase in RDW from 4.2 g to 14.7 g, respectively. There was a significant interaction between N and K doses and the variables DMC and PSPA. The largest DMC (1.2 mm) was observed at doses of 196 and 128 kg ha-1 of N and K, respectively.
