Abstract

Prescription and usage of methylphenidate is indicated for improvement in academic performance and individual’s motivation since it increases cognitive abilities and reduces fatigue. The aim of this study is to present literature evidence about nursing assistance for methylphenidate users at primary health care based on theoretical references of essential factors of primary care. Integrative literature review used the following descriptors: Methylphenidate and Primary Health and Methylphenidate and Nursing Care. Literature search was conducted in january 2022 at Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Studies published from 1975 to 2021 in Spanish, English and Portuguese languages were included in the research. Result: there was no study about nursing care for methylphenidate users at primary health care. Conclusion: the lack of literature about this subject reveals the need of discussion about primary health care for methylphenidate users. So, studies about patients care in primary health care are needed.
