Fibromyalgia is characterized as a chronic syndrome of unknown etiology, identified as a clinical condition of widespread pain, associated with many symptoms that affect the patient's quality of life and well-being when not properly treated. Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate the main therapeutic measures used in the treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome, understand the effectiveness and applicability of different therapeutic approaches, including pharmacological interventions and non-pharmacological therapies in order to manage symptoms, thus improving the quality of lives of patients suffering from this debilitating condition. Material and Methods: This is an integrative literature review in which qualitative methods were used in the analysis and selection of articles on the topic investigated through a databases survey on the topic. Results: Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterized by widespread chronic pain, fatigue and sleep disturbances. It results from genetic, neurobiological and environmental factors, with central sensitization being crucial. The diagnosis is clinical, based on the American College of Rheumatology criteria. Treatment is multidisciplinary, involving medications, physical and psychological therapies, as well as complementary interventions. The condition negatively affects quality of life, often associated with anxiety and depression, resulting in social and economic challenges. Advances in neuroimaging and biomarkers are improving diagnosis and treatment, but more research is needed to improve disease management. Conclusion: With the advancement of studies on the syndrome over time, new therapeutic measures have emerged with the aim of bringing relief to the patient's symptoms. Fibromyalgia is still a rheumatological disease without a definitive cure, however, the association of different therapeutic resources together with the monitoring of a multidisciplinary team has been presented as the ideal choice in the approach to clinical treatment.
